What I Read in 2020

If you’ve been a friend of this blog for a while you know I typically post my reads from the previous year in January. Well, it’s February and, to be honest, I almost forgot to post them! I’ve had blog followers ask me about adding my read books on Goodreads as well, and I may get on there at some point, but I am trying to take a detox from adding more apps to my phone so the old fashioned list continues!

I’ve always felt a kindredness with the books I read over the course of a year. 2020 was such an isolating and fear inducing year in so many ways and books were not only my comforts this year but a way to escape reality… You may tell that I did read a lot of fiction and now you will understand the reasoning for this more fully!

The books in the blog post picture are some of my favorite Bible study tools that I did not add to this list this year but prove to be helpful in my Bible study times. I highly recommend supplemental Bible study tools to answer questions or give you more background in your Bible reading time!

ps: Yes, you read that right! My Mom is an author! Through a cool site called Story Worth, she was able to answer questions sent to her through email over the course of a year or so and the answers, along with pictures she uploaded from all of the chapters of her life, were then compiled into one awesome book! Such a cool idea and way to collect and preserve awesome stories from your loved ones for future generations to read!

You have a great list of books you read that piqued my interest. I copied some titles I will try to read. It sounds like you found solace and encouragement from these books. I too read a lot and love to try my hand at writing poems. I wrote a book a couple of years ago, but feel it’s not meant to be published. It was a learning experience on how to write. My writer’s group had a good time teaching me while I struggled to put scenes, dialogue, and development of characters into proper shape and form. I enjoyed your article and hope you find success in your current pursuits.

So glad you enjoyed the list, Kathy! I pray you can find some books this year to grow, entertain, and comfort you! That’s awesome to hear about your writing adventures! What a great experience it is no matter how many you “publish” or not!
      God Bless!
