Proverbs in August

Hey friend,

What a year this has turned out to be, right? Wherever you heart, your mind, your health, and your resolve is right now I pray it is close to peace. I was feeling an ache in my soul that I couldn’t quite pin down. Although I had been keeping up with my devotionals and other non-fiction books over the past 4 months I wasn’t digging into the one true source of life and renewal.

The Word was calling out to me…and I knew what I needed to do.

So, after seeing a post with a 30 day “Read the Gospels” plan (thanks @anniefdowns) it was just the God-wink I needed! Over the past 30 days I would read 3 chapters a day (from Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John), journal tidbits that stuck out to me, and read the same chapters from a Bible commentary book I have for more details and historical understanding.

Growing up in church, I’ve read a lot of the Bible in my lifetime, but I was amazed at how much popped out at me that I had not noticed before! I am a firm believer that we can read a book, chapter, or even a verse one day, read it again days later, and the Lord can speak to us and open our eyes to it in a completely different way!

I wanted to keep the fire burning into this next month so I thought a walk through Proverbs in August would be a great next step! Added bonus: August is my birthday month 🥳 and digging into the depths of wisdom that Proverbs holds would be a great way to prepare my heart, soul, and mind for this new year ahead!

31 Proverbs over 31 Days!

AND because celebrating isn’t as fun alone…I’d love to walk through it with a few friends, like you! Maybe you’re in a small group already or looking for a reason to get back into the groove of the Word on your own. Either way, I’d love for you to join me this upcoming month as we read through these “sayings and riddles of the wise.” (1:6)

I’ll be posting some updates over on my instagram so feel free to find me over there and follow along!

Keeping y’all in my prayers. 🙏🏼

Love,

Mandy
