What I Read in 2019

It’s that time of year again! 🎉 If you’ve followed my blog for a while you might know about my love for the written word. Books are like trail markers for me. Every January, I look back at the list of books I read over the course of the previous year and I can remember what else was going on in my life while I was reading it. The joys, the encouragement, the tears, the reminiscing (re-reading old books), the questions, and the adventures…it’s like a book list diary!

I gotta be honest with you. I did not read as much as I had hoped to in 2019. Something I’ve learned about myself is that when I am going through stressful times (later half of the year was full of that 🙃) I tend to want to de-stress with comedies and romcoms….so, I ended up watching all 9 seasons of The Office this Fall! 🤣

Do you want to read more in 2020 too? The Bible has been my ongoing favorite book to read. I have a reading goal this year to delve into more of the resource / theological books (Christian Apologetics, Biblical History / Dictionary) that I own to increase my knowledge and understanding of the Word. I also want to read more on the topics of health / wellness and re-read some of the books that were fun to read in my childhood (ex: Fudge, Little House on the Prairie, The Baby-Sitters Club, etc).

What is your favorite genre of books? Do you have any recommendations for me?

As I always say, I don’t like to critique each book I read as we all have different book tastes and who wants to spoil the fun of your book discovery? If you do have questions about any of them; however, feel free to ask me!

Happy Reading!

Looks like it was still a more productive year of reading than mine was! Thanks for sharing!

Haha, it’s all good! One year I read 29 books so I think my baseline is off a bit…🤣
