It’s amazing how busy we can become in our day-to-day schedule. I can forget that taking a break is just as important as working hard.
For the past week, I’ve enjoyed a nice week off from work relaxing at the beach! It’s been awesome not having to be responsible for the everyday requirements that my work week typically demands.
Now don’t get me wrong, I absolutely being a Speech Language Pathologist! I look forward to going to work every day and I know that is a blessing! I think that’s why it’ll be a while before I’ve taken a break without really noticing, but it was time.
I want to encourage you to take a break. Whatever that looks like for you, your family, or your season of life, I highly encourage you to do it!
Life is short and we aren’t promised tomorrow. I’m sure you’ve heard this before but just let this sink in.
We aren’t promised tomorrow.
Unfortunately, death is not discriminatory to age, gender, and occupation. It won’t wait until you’ve retired or finished that last degree.
So do something today that makes you feel alive! Something that makes your heart happy! It might be a hobby you’ve forgotten about, a book you’ve meant to read, a place you’ve wanted to take your kids, or a telephone call you’ve been putting off until next week.
The time you spend while making your heart happy and the time spent with the ones you love will be time well spent.
I promise, you won’t regret it.
